Awareness Month at Old Mill High School

Youth Ambassadors at Old Mill High School dedicated the month of March to visiting all freshmen classes to present and spread awareness among their peers on the dangers of substance use and how it affects young people. They also had their music video a “LTE anthem” and a Public Service Announcement  playing, which shared a message of healthy living. Along with their presentations, ambassadors gave away custom “Living the Example” wristbands and raffle prizes for students that engaged with the LTE social media page. Ambassadors reached the entire freshmen class of 580 students. This effort helped to create a buzz about the LTE program before the ‘Shatter the Myths’ Youth Rally in April.

Ambassadors also saw a great need to support their school’s athletics department by purchasing new equipment, promoting healthy, drug-free living among athletes and the rest of the school population that will use equipment they are investing in.

It was a unique and exciting opportunity to see youth ambassadors provide resources to engage younger students.
